Green and Goosen go to Playoff to Decide Canadian Open Champion

A rain soaked course at Glen Abbey provided some fireworks at the finish of the Canadian Open in Oakville, Ontario.
Nathan Green and Retief Gossen needed a sudden death playoff to crown this years champion at Glen Abbey. After the second hole, Nathan Green emerged the surprise victor. It was the 33 year old Aussie`s first win on the PGA. Previously Green had played on the Canadian Tour, so winning on Canadian soil was very sweet for him.

Monday Update from The Canadian Open- Glen Abbey
Posted on July 27th, 2009 No commentsThe majority of round three has concluded after an early start at the Canadian Open. Anthony Kim and Retief Goosen are the co leaders at -15.
The rain does not look to be a factor today as blue sky with a few clouds and some light breezes are gusting through the area.
The rest of the leaderboard consists of Michael Letzig at -14. Bob Estes, Nathan Green, Jason Dufner and James Kelly are all sitting at -13. More update throughout the day.

Sunday Report from The Canadian Open-More Rain!
Posted on July 26th, 2009 No commentsPlay has been suspended until 4:30 pm today due to a large storm system moving through the area. “The problem is really the golf course and all the water on it,” tournament director Bill Paul told GOLF CHANNEL.
As of now, weather is still threatening. Officials are not sure if any golf will be played today at all.

Saturday Provides more of the Same Conditions at Glen Abbey

What was supposed to be the third round ended up a combination of the players who did not complete round two and some who were starting round 3. Numerous delays took place, and much of Saturday’s round must now be completed on Sunday where they will try to get in 36 holes. Stay tuned for more.

Opening Round at Glen Abbey a Wash for Some Players
Posted on July 24th, 2009 No commentsThe 100th Canadian Open had an extensive rain delay of approximately 7 hours during the 1st round. Many players only got a partial round completed on Thursday while some did not even get to the tee. Kevin Na is leading at Glen Abbey in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. He is tied at -9 with Camilo Villegas. Scott Verplank, Retief Goosen and Joe Durant are all at -7.

FDA Alters Regulations for Tylenol and Pain Killers
Posted on July 21st, 2009 No commentsRecently, the FDA has decided to lower the dosage of over the counter drugs that contain acetaminophen. “The commonly used pain- and fever-reliever known as Tylenol is found in several nonprescription cough and cold remedies, including NyQuil and Theraflu. Patients are also asking what potential dangers their daily use of acetaminophen may pose. ” Read the full Time Magazine article here.
