Ogilvy Storms Past Sabbatini for the Win and Repeat
Posted on January 10th, 2010 No comments
Geoff Oglivy played a consistent 3 rounds at the SBS Championships. He waited patiently until the final round to make a big move up the leaderboard and repeat as the champ at the 2010 SBS Championship. Although the Aussie won the tournament by posting a six under and final score of -22, the story of the day had to be Rory Sabbatini, who was on fire on Sunday. Sabbatini fired a 10 under (63) to take the outright lead for the majority of the day. Sabbatini finished the day at -21. All he could do was sit and wait in the clubhouse. As the round progressed, Ogilvy drew closer and sealed the victory at 15 with the birdie.
Lucas Glover’s 54 hole lead evaporated. He imploded on Sunday going 4 over par-the worst round of the day. Fellow American, Matt Kuchar finished the round at -19 while Sean O’Hair had a bit of a let down. He ended up at 18 under. Martin Laird rounds out the top five with a score of -18 as well.
