Massive Recall of Products Containing HVP in Canda and the USA

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a waring in regards to a number of products containing hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP) better know as MSG. The recall is due to concerns of  Salmonella contamination. The US Food and Drug Administration(FDA) has also issued a similar recall as well.

Canadian Health Alert-Siena Foods Contaminated with Listeria

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the consumers to stay away from certain Siena Foods LTD products. It is believed that they are tainted with Listeria.

“These products have been distributed in Ontario and Alberta. However, they may have been distributed nationally. This alert is based on positive test results for Listeria monocytogenes in a product sample and CFIA‘s investigation of these findings. The CFIAis aware of reported listeriosis illness in Ontario and is collaborating with Health Authorities in Ontario in their investigation of these illnesses.”
