Perscription Drug Abuse a Major Problem
Posted on June 24th, 2010 No commentsThe International Narcotics Control Board has recently released a statement that suggest prescription drugs are now more abused than cocaine, heroin and ecstasy combined.
“In the United States, abuse of prescription drugs “is now the second most important drug abuse issue after cannabis,” it said, with 6.2 million people hooked on them in 2008.”

McDonalds May Have a Lawsuit on Their Hands
Posted on June 23rd, 2010 No commentsA watchdog group is threatening to take fast food giant McDonald’s to court. The groups claims that McDonald’s is using the toys that come with Happy Meals to “lure kids into unhealthy eating habits.”
The potential lawsuit is also focusing on McDonald’s advertising campaigns.
“The group points to a 2006 study by the Federal Trade Commission showing that fast-food companies — McDonald’s foremost among them — spent $520 million in advertising directed at children. Toy giveaways represented more than $350 million of this total.”

As someone in the fitness and health indusrty myself, it is great to see this show knocked down. It is totally unhealthy.Forget the ratings. Teach people how to eat properly, manage their stress and exercise regularly. Education is key!
