Young Canadians At High Risk for Heart Disease and High Blood Pressure

The Heart and Stroke Foundation has released its annual report . Canadians are getting failing grades in regards to many heart health related issues including, high blood pressure and heart disease.
“Between 1994 and 2005, rates of high blood pressure among Canadians skyrocketed by 77 per cent, while diabetes rose by 45 per cent and obesity by 18 per cent, the report said.”
“More than 250,000 Canadians in their 20s and 30s had high blood pressure, making them the newest at-risk group.”

FDA Alters Regulations for Tylenol and Pain Killers
Posted on July 21st, 2009 No commentsRecently, the FDA has decided to lower the dosage of over the counter drugs that contain acetaminophen. “The commonly used pain- and fever-reliever known as Tylenol is found in several nonprescription cough and cold remedies, including NyQuil and Theraflu. Patients are also asking what potential dangers their daily use of acetaminophen may pose. ” Read the full Time Magazine article here.
