The Big Easy Makes it Look Easy at the WC World Golf Championship-Doral 2010

Ernie Els and fellow South African Charl Schwartzel were tied going into Sunday’s final round at Doral. In the end, Els put the pedal to the metal and pulled away from the field to claim the 2010 WGC at the famed Doral Blue Monster Course. Els shot a great round of 66, which gave him a total score of -18 for the tournament. That was good enough for a 4 shot lead over Charl Schwartzel. Schwartzel was unable to keep pace with the Big Easy on Sunday. He could only muster up a 2 under 70 to finish at -14.

Matt Kucher, Martin Kaymer and Padraig Harrington all finshed at 11 under.

Round 3 Summary from Doral-WC World Golf Championship

Charl Schwartzel and Ernie Els sit tied(-12) at the top of the leaderboard after Saturday. Schwartzel shot a 67, while Els managed a 70. Padraig Harrington is at -11. Robert Allenby is at -10. Bill Haas shot 70 to put him at -9, while Martin Kaymer had a great round with the flat stick. He carded a third round 66 to put him 8 under.

After the second round at Doral, there is a new leader. Ernie Els shot a second round 66 which gave him a score of -10 through 36 holes. Robert Allenby sits just one shot behind after carding a 67 on Friday. Bill Haas and Charl Schwartzel are both at -7. Soren Hansen and Padraig Harrington finished the day at 5 under.

Round 1 Summary- W C World Golf Championship-Blue Monster at Doral

The TPC Blue Monster lived up to it’s name. The opening round at Doral caused fits for many of the golfers in the field. The windy conditions were a major problems. That did not stop one South African.

Charl Schwartzel is your leader (-5) after the first round at Doral. Ernie Els, Robert Allenby and Vijay Singh are just 1 shot behind. All three had a chance to claim the lead, but had trouble on the final hole. In Allenby’s case, he finished with four straight bogeys.
